Aliena, 2003, and,
as she exists today.
I first erased the frown and scowl on
Aliena's face and replaced it with contented brows and a
beatific smile, thinking that it’d make a stronger
contradictory statement with the surly message on Aliena's
chest. Once the alteration was made, I hated how she
looked and decided to change her back, but I failed
spectacularly.

This character album includes some choice
fighting words I was subjected to as well as some less than
steller retorts I considered saying but was too cowardly to
actually deliver.
Characters in the album includes Aliena
(the cover image), whose creation was inspired by my friend
Cynthia—the first person to tell me that I
“...didn’t have to like (my) parents;” and Ray, who is a surrogate
for Shawn, my college best friend* and first serious crush.
*I don't know if I was his best friend
